Romans Ch 8 vv 9-17
To enable us to do this we have no end of assurance and promises in this passage. As believers our physical bodies will have to die, but, because the very power, the Holy Spirit Himself, who raised Jesus from the dead, resides within us, He will most certainly bring our bodies to life again, renewed as was Jesus’ own resurrected body. We can’t die because the Spirit of life has taken residence within us. What a mind-blowing truth!
We have also been adopted into God’s own family as His sons and daughters and we are being led by the Holy Spirit. We have been delivered from the fears of unbelievers. They are never sure of what the future holds. They try to forget it and live for today. The believer has absolute assurance that the best is yet to come. Even now we can call God our Father. No one else can, in any saving sense.
However, the test of true faith is that we share in Jesus’ sufferings. Doing so will enable us to share in His glory that awaits us beyond the grave.
